Preview: SQL Server 2022 to Azure SQL Managed Instance Disaster Recovery

Announcing the public preview of online disaster recovery between SQL Server 2022 and Azure SQL Managed Instance with the link feature in Azure SQL Managed Instance. This feature connects SQL Server 2022 to the fully managed platform as a service (PaaS) service, Azure SQL Managed Instance, allowing for hybrid flexibility and database mobility. The near real-time data replication to Azure using Always On technology enables scaling workloads or analytics to read-only secondaries in Azure. This provides the advantage of a fully managed database platform, performance, and scale. The managed online disaster recovery (DR) feature ensures uptime in any of the 60+ Azure global regions. Additionally, using Azure SQL Managed Instance as a passive DR replica in Azure allows for the benefit of failover rights and a license-free discount for Azure SQL Managed Instance. Managed DR reduces setup and management time compared to an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) environment, making it a more efficient solution. For more information, please visit the provided link.
