Release: Premium SSD v2 & Ultra disks backed by Trusted Launch | Azure Updates
Trusted Launch VMs now support Azure Premium SSD v2 disks and Ultra disks storage. This allows hosting workloads on high throughput, high IOPS, and consistent low latency disk storage with foundational compute security. Trusted Launch VMs provide compute security to Azure Generation 2 VMs by enabling Secure Boot and vTPM capabilities. They protect the OS against rootkits, boot kits, and enable attestation by measuring the boot chain of the VM. Ultra disks offer the highest performance with sub-millisecond latency and are suited for data-intensive workloads. Premium SSD v2 disks provide sub-millisecond latency and high performance at a low cost, making them ideal for a broad range of enterprise workloads.
