GA: Azure Monitor Agent now integrates with Connection Monitor

Features and benefits of the Connection Monitor, a multi-agent monitoring solution that detects network connectivity and performance errors in real time. It offers aggregated packet loss and latency, end-to-end path visibility, and actionable insights to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, ultimately reducing the Mean Time to Resolve network connectivity issues. The update introduces the Azure Monitor Agent, which consolidates multiple monitoring agents into a single agent, addressing connectivity monitoring logs and metrics data collection needs across Azure and ARC enabled on-premises machines. This update also eliminates the dependency on the soon-to-be-deprecated Log Analytics agent and enhances security, performance, cost savings, and troubleshooting management. The new features of this update include connectivity monitoring support for ARC enabled on-premises endpoints, simpler management of network monitoring extensions, and enhanced security through Managed Identity and Azure Active Directory tokens. The roadmap for the feature includes portal support, integrated support for Network Watcher extension, extended support across Azure resources, and enhanced performance metrics. The feature is being launched today, with global availability expected in the coming days.
