New Azure Application Gateway features: TLS and TCP protocol support
Azure Application Gateway now supports TLS and TCP protocol termination in public preview. This enhancement allows for the use of Application Gateway for non-HTTP applications, such as SQL, MQTT, and AMQP, among others. By leveraging Application Gateway’s TLS certificate management capability with a custom domain, clients can securely connect to backend services. Moreover, a single Application Gateway resource can serve as a single endpoint for all clients, supporting Layer 7 (HTTP/S) to Layer 4 (TCP and TLS) protocols. This feature is currently available for Standard V2 and Web Application Firewall V2 SKUs, with detailed instructions provided in the documentation for getting started.
